Beats me, kid... cinema is one of the seven arts, and -as such- open to all sorts of subjective interpretations...
Gee, these two upper class women (and yes, the servant is upper class, too. If you think she's poor it's because you're rich) really have it rough. My heart goes out to these oppressed women.
